In 1993, VOG AG, Linz, took over the oil mill in Aschach belonging to the regional Raiffeisen Bank Upper Austria in order to expand its competence in food production.
With the aim of finding a special positioning for the product, the Rapso project was developed together with the Upper Austrian Chamber of Agriculture as well the Saatbau Linz.
1995 Rapso presented itself for the first time at the Anuga in Cologne and has since written a unique story of success.
1989: founding of the oil mill in Aschach an der Donau.
1993: takeover by the VOG group.
1995 : Rapso introduction at ANUGA in Cologne.
1996: listing in all Austrian retail chains except for discount stores.
1997: second appearance at ANUGA, import interest from more than 20 countries, successful listings in Germany.
1998: Rapso grows by more than 50%.Revenues double in Germany.
1999: the positive sales trend continues.The export share is already 50%.
2000: the upward trend continues unabated.
The number of bottles sold is increased by nearly 40% compared to the previous year.
2001: now two out of three bottles are sent abroad.
Rapso is becoming one of the most successful domestic exports in the field of food.
In October, the first delivery for Australia.
2002: Rapso is still growing. The increase amounts to 46% compared to the previous year.
May is the best month so far with sales of more than 600,000 bottles.
2003: further increases, we deliver to Italy and Norway for the first time.
Rapso is no. 3 on the overall oil market in Austria. 2004: in October, for the first time more than 1 million bottles of Rapso leave the oil mill in one month.
Investment into a new bottling plant with a capacity of 12,000 bottles per hour.
2005: Rapso is already no. 1 on the oil market in Austria. Almost 13 million standard units (=750 ml bottles) sold. The acreage covers 15,000 ha.
2006: Rapso continues to grow. The export rate exceeds 75%.
2007: the next expansion step is planned: a third oil press is built to keep pace with the Rapso's sharply increasing sales.
2008: in Germany, RAPSO reaches 2nd place on the edible oil market. Over 17.1 million standard units are sold.
In April, a container of Rapso is shipped to Dubai.
2012: July is the best sales month in the history of Rapso. 1,775,000 bottles of Rapso are sold.
2014: June 30th - Press conference on the occasion of the 20th Rapso cultivation at the oilmill. Since 1995, more than 26.500 farmers have been part of the Rapso project. Rapso is the major rapeseed brand in Central Europe, and local farmers are invited to be part of this successful concept in the future.
2016: April – VOG AG celebrates its 100-year-anniversary, making it one of the oldest Austrian companies. The company’s products and brands (e.g. Rapso, Lenz Moser, Goldpack, Vier Diamanten) have a respectable standing with Central European clients.
2017: Summer – extensive technical modernisation measures at the oilmill. The oilmill now complies with state-of-the-art technology.
